Five Senators Kill Mandatory ICE Cooperation Bill on 4-5 Vote

House Bill 659 — requiring Idaho law enforcement to enter 287(g) ICE agreements — passed the full Idaho House with strong support, then died in committee on a single vote. Five senators chose to block it. All five are on the ballot in 2026.
